Bollywood actor John Abraham is popular for his strong screen presence and action-packed roles, but off-screen, he lives a life with wife Priya Runchal that’s the complete opposite of the glamour world.
In a recent interview with ‘India Today’, John shared how he has always kept his personal life private, and that’s very intentional. Surprisingly, he has never hired an agent or a publicist to promote himself in the media.

“Once my films are done, I disappear,” he said. “I only speak when I feel I have something meaningful to share.”

“I never went to Bollywood parties, even before I got married. I don’t enjoy loud music and I don’t drink,” John said.
He mentioned that his decision to avoid alcohol is personal. “My father enjoys his single malt, and that’s one reason I’ve always stayed away from it,” he added.
John’s lifestyle is all about discipline. He wakes up between 4 and 4:30 in the morning, reads the news from around the world, and focuses on self-growth.
When he’s not shooting films, John keeps himself busy with his football academy in Shillong. He’s passionate about the sport and is deeply involved in its development. He also spends time writing film scripts, something he enjoys doing away from the spotlight.
On the work front, John is ready to return to the screen with ‘Tehran’, a gripping thriller directed by Arun Gopalan. The film draws inspiration from the 2012 attacks on Israeli diplomats and is likely to bring a new side of John’s acting. It will premiere on ZEE5 on August 14, 2025.
